Cantharellus roseocanus is also known as the "Rainbow Chanterelle". It fruits in the Pacific Northwest, slightly earlier in the season than most of the other Chanterelles in the area. Generally smaller, firmer and chunkier than the later season Chanterelles, these mushrooms are particularly prized by foragers and very rarely seen in stores.
